What makes up the muscular system?

Muscles, tendons and the nerves that command them.

The simple answer

A muscle on its own is useless. It needs something to pull on, something to pull against, and something to tell it when. Together those make the muscular system.

Go deeper

Muscles attach to bones through tough cords called tendons, bones meet at joints that decide which way movement is allowed, and nerves carry the command that starts the whole thing. Remove any one part and nothing moves.
